Eligibility to study in Germany
ELIGIBILITY TO STUDY IN GERMANY
If you are looking to study abroad, irrespective of your home country and ideal study abroad location, challenges are inevitable – from finding the right course, finance, admission, sending application documents to securing a student visa, if applicable. Here at D_arkaden, we recommend that while planning to study in Germany, you should first ensure that you verify your eligibility by checking the visa requirements before proceeding to the next stage.

WHAT IS AN ELIGIBILITY TEST?
It simply involves answering some relevant questions to determine if you are ready to begin the planned journey. In addition, it serves to help us at Destiney Arkaden get the basic information we need about you before beginning your application process. Most students do not meet the visa requirements and they realize this after going through the process of searching for a university course and even applying. Getting a student visa to study in Germany and other EU states is a relevant requirement amongst other requirements. However, the most important one is showing proof of sustenance during your study period at least for a year. This can be done in one of the following ways:
Scholarship

You will be granted a student visa if you have a scholarship or receive stipends from a recognised German or European organisation. The conditions for your scholarship have to be clearly stated as the funding sources will be verified before the student visa is given.
Blocked account

The German government specifies a particular amount that you need to have per month, multiplied by 12, to cover your living expenses for your first year of studies. Currently, the amount is set at 853 EUR per month. Therefore, you need to show that you have 853 EUR x 12, as proof of your sustenance.
It is also important to note that this money is yours, and will be used by YOU during your studies here to cover your house rent, food, health insurance, groceries, and other things YOU need for YOURSELF.
Sponsorship

It is also possible to be granted a student visa if you have someone based in Germany who can tender an official sponsorship letter, declaring to be responsible for all your financial needs in Germany during your study period.
The sponsorship letter is called a Declaration of Commitment or “Verpflichtungserklärungen” in German, which simply means that someone is declaring to be responsible (financially) for you.
What are the prerequisites for getting the Letter of Sponsorship?
Some conditions must be fulfilled before your host, who is either a relative, friend or business organization, can give this letter. Your host must be financially buoyant, and this can be shown in either their monthly income or saved money and must be enough to cover their expenses and yours. Additionally, your plans to go to Germany must be clear. Which is your case is well-defined – you are travelling for studies. This purpose is very much respected in Germany, especially when the students are truly sincere.
